Teaching Finance Without the Headaches
We started soliqentavira in 2019 because we were tired of seeing people struggle with financial concepts that really aren't that complicated. Most courses either throw jargon at you until your eyes glaze over, or they oversimplify things so much that you don't actually learn anything useful.
So we built something different. Our approach centers on practical understanding rather than academic theory. You'll work through real balance sheets from Australian companies, analyze actual market movements from 2024, and build skills you can use right away.
Based here in Baulkham Hills, we've helped over 800 people get comfortable with financial analysis since we opened. Some have gone on to work in finance. Others just wanted to understand their investments better. Both are perfectly valid reasons to learn this stuff.
How We Got Here
Building something worthwhile takes time. Here's the short version of our story.
The Beginning
Started with evening workshops in a shared office space. Six people showed up to the first one. We taught ratio analysis using printed spreadsheets because our projector broke.
Finding Our Style
Moved to our current location and refined our teaching methods based on what actually worked. Dropped the textbook approach entirely after realizing nobody was reading them anyway.
What We Do Now
Running structured programs throughout the year with a focus on hands-on learning. Our next intake starts September 2025, and we're keeping class sizes small so everyone gets proper attention.
Tamsin Quigley
Worked in corporate finance for twelve years before switching to teaching. Still does consulting work occasionally to stay current with industry practices.
What Matters to Us
Honest Teaching
We don't pretend finance is simple when it's not. But we also don't make it harder than it needs to be. You'll get straight answers about what you need to know and why.
Real Applications
Every concept connects to actual use cases. You'll analyze companies that exist, review financial reports that matter, and work with data that reflects current market conditions.
Your Pace
Some people grasp cash flow statements immediately. Others need more time with them. Both are fine. We structure programs to allow for different learning speeds.
Practical Focus
Theory has its place, but we prioritize skills you'll actually use. By the end of our programs, you should be able to read and interpret financial statements confidently.
Our teaching style grew from direct experience with what works. We test new approaches regularly, keep what helps people learn, and drop what doesn't. The curriculum for 2025 reflects feedback from hundreds of past participants who told us what clicked and what confused them.
